Like a lot of sports terms, the word “dynasty” gets bandied about by fans fairly often, even though there is no agreed upon set of criteria that says what a dynasty is. The recent success of the Chicago Blackhawks has further fed the flames of the dynasty conversation, and their win in the Stanley Cup Finals last night seems to have all but cemented their position amongst the greatest teams of all-time, to some anyway. The Hawks will no doubt have their detractors, those who say that times have changed, that the greatness of old will never be matched. Is that honestly true though?
