We now proceed with part two of The State of Florida vs. The Toronto Maple Leafs. For the second game in a row, the Leafs are taking on a division rival and for the second game in a row, that rival comes from the Sunshine State. The last time the Panthers rolled into town, things didn’t end so well. A 3-1 loss on home ice dealt a serious blow to the confidence of this team, making an already bad month of December even worse. But Leafs appear to have weathered the storm. Coming off a win against red-hot Tampa Bay, the lowly Panthers provide an opportunity to further cement their position in third in the Atlantic. Will they pull out two points tonight, or will Leafs Nation have to suffer through another embarrassing defeat?
After an extended time away from the ACC, the Leafs return home to take on their now division rivals. The Lightning have been riding high despite not having the great Steven Stamkos on their roster, while the Leafs stumbled at the tail end of a great road trip. It’s two big divisional points on the line tonight, as the Leafs look to cement their newly gained, third place foothold in the Atlantic.
Stars, because I’m so damn creative.
For the second time this month, the Leafs play their third game in four nights, for the second game in a row. Take a minute with that one, it can be a bit weird at first. We on the same page? Great. The Leafs, despite a very tough stretch of road hockey, have found themselves in the midst of a six-game winning streak. They’re still getting outshot and outchanced most nights, but they’re far from the “grab a one goal lead and hold on” Leafs from October. They’re in the Lone Star State tonight, taking on the Stars, looking to keep that winning streak rolling.
No rest for the wicked. The Leafs are right back in action following their 4-2 win in Phoenix, and they’re in the Mile High State to take on the Avs. The last time these two played, Colorado handed the Leafs their first loss of the season. Now, they sit in a position to hand the Leafs their first loss in more than a week. What’s going to happen?
Remember a month ago when I said the Leafs hadn’t defeated the Coyotes in over a decade? Remember when they broke that slump? Good times. The Leafs roll into Jobing.com Arena, a stadium in which they’ve never won in. Seriously. 0 for 3. Crazy right? Let’s see if they can get their first win tonight.
Ahhh, back where they belong. The Leafs are back playing on Saturday night and it’s against the Montreal Canadiens. Oh baby, it doesn’t, get, better.
Oh boy! Leafs and Sabres! Again! Damn it I hate this division rivalry, always seems like more trouble than it’s worth. Either way though, it’s happening, so get ready, chances are this game won’t be pretty.
When I woke up this morning I knew the Leafs were playing, but I’d forgotten whom. Then I remembered.
Well, let’s get on with it. Read More »
If you haven’t seen this picture yet, what have you been seeing? The Leafs fly into Raleigh, North Carolina coming off a stinker vs. the New York Islanders and Tim Gleason gets to play against his old team about a week after being traded. What’s going to happen? Oh I have an idea…Read More »
